Sustainability goes from strength to strength at Calthorpe House

October 2009

Calthorpe House is one of only five contenders shortlisted in the ‘Sustainable Achievement’ category of the 2009 Offices Development Awards.

The £40m Grade A office development, prominently situated near Five Ways Island in Edgbaston, has been constructed with the environment and energy efficiency in mind and was one of the first in Birmingham to achieve an environmental BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.

The prestigious awards are designed to reward the most innovative and thriving deals and developments in the office property market over the past 12 months.

The sustainable achievement category recognises innovation with regard to the sustainability and reduction in the carbon footprint of a development.

The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 20th October as part of the Offices 2009 event.

The nomination adds to Calthorpe Estates already impressive list of accolades including West Midlands ‘Property Company of the Year’ in the 2009 EG Awards, ‘Consumer Choices’ award in the C+ Carbon Positive Awards and 'Sustainable Development of the Year' for Calthorpe House in the 2008 West Midlands Insider Property Awards.
