Sustainability
Green, but not naive.
In every aspect of its design and construction, Calthorpe House was conceived as a building that would exceed current legislation for eco-friendly developments.
A tremendous range of sustainable features assures lasting benefits within a leading edge, environmentally-friendly working environment, which in turn will mean lower running costs for its occupiers.
The building maintained a clear focus on the issues of pollution, energy and water consumption, alongside provisions for rainwater harvesting, the protection of site ecology and the use of land and materials.
100% SOGE [Sustainable Operations on the Government Estate] targets have been achieved. These are mandatory standards set by the Office of Government Commerce.
Calthorpe House has achieved an EPC rating ‘B’ which may lead to tax benefits on future occupation costs.
In terms of energy efficiency alone, Calthorpe House outperforms the current statutory requirements for carbon emissions by 27% and provides energy saving measures which include high levels of thermal insulation and solar control glass. The well-being of occupants is taken into account, offering excellent levels of ventilation and thermal comfort with high frequency, controlled lighting and low noise levels.
